RE: Construction Improvements Along Rice Street – Phase 1A Lihue Town Core Mobility and Revitalization Project

To Residents, Property and Business Owners on Rice Street: You are being contacted because construction improvements are about to begin along Rice Street from West of the Haleko Street intersection and through Kalena Street.

This is a County of Kauai Project to revitalize Rice Street and provide better pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle travel ways. Work includes demolition and upgrading of sidewalks, new landscaping and permanent on-street parking in areas along Rice Street. Construction will start from Haleko Street and proceed along the South side of Rice Street through Kalena Street. We have included maps of the area to show you the upcoming sections of work along Rice Street,

We are notifying you to let you know that construction will take place fronting your property or business and that on-street parking will be temporarily eliminated during portions of the construction. We will work with each party to minimize impacts for access to driveways; driveway construction may take a few days to complete, however access to your business and/or residence will be maintained at all times,

We expect construction to begin sometime between April 8-22, 2019 and be complete by May 31, 2019 (both dates are estimated and subject to change). Work hours are from 7:00am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday,
