Located near the Kaua`i Museum, is the Bank of Hawaii. The bank was originally Located at the old Lihu`e Store which is where the County of Kaua`i Department of Motor Vehicles is presently Located. The bank occupied a space that was originally a coffee shop. Eventually, in 1912, land Located across the Kaua`i Museum was purchased and a building was constructed. In 1913, Bank of Hawaii reLocated to its present-day location. At the time, long-time manager Frank Crawford wore several hats including Postmaster, and first leader of the Kaua`i Chamber of Commerce. The Lihu`e branch is known to be one of the first concrete buildings constructed on Kaua`i.
