Located to the right of the Bank of Hawaii, is the Paul Isenberg Monument. The monument overlooks the Lihu`e Plantation Company Mill, which Isenberg was responsible for building and that became a successful agricultural enterprise. Isenberg was employed as an Overseer, later to become a part-owner, and eventually President of the Lihu`e Plantation Mill. Isenberg died of peritonitis in 1903 while in Germany. In 1904, the people of Kaua`i dedicat_ided the statue to Paul Isenberg as a tribute to him and for his contributions to the community.
